Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year! And welcome to the year of the Rooster.

Chinese New Year is a two-week festival marked by the lunisolar Chinese calendar. The date of the New Year changes every year, but 2017 celebrations start Saturday 28th Jan and finish on Wednesday 15th Feb.

There are New Year celebrations taking place across the country this weekend, and here at WeFiFo we wanted to get involved too. We celebrated slightly early, and had one glorious lunch hour eating our home cooked Chinese feast.

We ate:

Chinese Pork Ribs

Szechwan Pork Belly

Coconut Rice

Pak Choi, Mushroom and Pea in spiced soy sauce.

Definitely the tastiest Chinese New Year we’ve ever had!

This menu would be perfect for a dinner party, the meat slow cooks and can be made in advance of guests arriving. The rice is delicious, and only 36p per portion.

Happy Eating,
