Mulled White Wine with a Pear & Ginger Signature

Serves: 4


  • One 750ml bottle dry white wine, I personally prefer using a Sauvignon Blanc or a Pinot Grigio for this recipe
  • Organic or homemade ginger cordial; the Belvoir Ginger Cordial is perfect if you do not have time to make your own
  • 3 whole cloves
  • Thin slices of either Conference, Comice or Williams Pear (to decorate and mildly flavour)
  • 1/2 a cup of Pear Brandy/Liqueur - I personally prefer Giffard Poire William Pear Liqueur for this recipe
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 2 green cardamom pods
  • 4 tiny chunks of fresh ginger
  • A dash of honey to sweeten (if needed)



In a large saucepan, heat up the entire bottle of white wine and add the Ginger cordial to sweeten.


Once heated, stir in the Pear Brandy/Liquer, along with the clove, cardamom, fresh ginger and cinnamon.


Set the pan to a medium heat and stir until the contents start to bubble away.


Taste and add honey if necessary.


Leave to simmer for 15 minutes.


Serve in heatproof glasses or mugs and add a slice of pear to garnish.
